Conditions and terms

The management and staff of REVSODEP at its weekly meetings endorsed the introduction of certain programmes and activities to be included in the package for our volunteers and students when they arrive in Ghana. The following was agreed upon:

1 A T-shirt /souvenir of the organization will be provided at 8 €. They are free to use them always and especially on the Fridays meetings of the volunteers. Volunteers are expected to furnish the officer in charge with their body size for prompt supply of their shirts. This is to identify our volunteers from others easily and also to advertise the organization and its activities.

2 CULTURAL DRUMMING AND DANCING LESSONS.
This is compulsory also for our volunteers/students which we feel will help them a lot. The volunteers currently working with us have approved of it because of the benefits they derive from it and for that reason; we feel that this time it should be part of it. It will help the volunteers to understand the culture and traditions of the people first hand .It are a very good form of entertainment for the volunteers also after their hard days work. The volunteers will have the lessons at the Tamale Youth House three (3) times a week for a maximum of two (2) months before they can stop. Each volunteer will pay 50 € per month for the lesson. 40 € each will go to the young men who train our volunteers 10 € goes to buy drumming materials and for maintenance.

3 PROGRAMMES ON REQUEST
Over the years, our volunteers and students apply to come and do a particular programme and upon their arrival and start of work, they wish to change the programme or add more programme against the original plan. This often puts a lot of pressure on us. To reduce this, any applicant wishing to come through us and has the intention to do as explained will have to pay an additional 50euros to the organization.

4 DONATION OF BICYCLES
Volunteers/interns after completing their work are encourage to submit their bicycles to the organization for its charity work of supporting the rural children who travel about 6-8km to access education to be able to move freely and avoid lateness to school. This gesture goes along way to help the children thereby encouraging them to be in school always.

5 CHANNEL OF COMMUNICATION
The meeting for volunteers on Fridays is meant to bridge any communication gap between volunteers and staff. It will be against the organization’s interest for any volunteers to go elsewhere to seek information when they have genuine problems without first of all seeing the staff. Volunteers have no business discussion issues with their host families because they are both not in the organization and may not know much about the organization. Any person or group of persons believed to have been engaged in such things will be sanctioned accordingly according to the degree of the offends. We address issues of host families at the quarterly meetings for host families and so therefore, any host family found to have violated this rule will have his contract with the organization terminated. Any volunteer or internship student wishing to have communication with their host family can consult the organization staff before or can send mail to their prospective country coordinators of the reasons. And when they received an email from their international coordinators such mail can be forwarded to the management of the organization and when the go ahead is given then he or she can do so.

6 RECEIVING RELATIVES/PARENTS
The organization’s stand on receiving relatives and parents into the country of their placement is that, the volunteer should furnish the organization with the information on what their mission is (relative)? How long they will stay and the arrangement for accommodation etc. The staff should be in the known so as to intervene in times of difficulties and to have some rapport with them.

7 NON REFUND OF FEES
Any applicant who pays to come for a programme but later on decides to change the mind and asking for refund will not be able to get that refund. This is because the contribution is already used to do administrative work to get volunteers placed in their country of choice.

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILLING TO COME THROUGH US SHOULD READ THES TERMS AND HAVE DEEPER UNDERSTANDING BEFORE THEY APPLY TO COME. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN GHANA.
